Session: Day 1 — 12:30 PM

The session brings together industry leaders for a practical conversation about what effective vendor oversight looks like. Joining moderator Peter Haessig are panelists with deep experience on both the Sponsor and advisory sides of clinical outsourcing, bringing perspectives from across CROs, biopharma, and vendor management. Vendor oversight is one of the most frequently discussed topics in clinical outsourcing — and one of the most inconsistently executed. This session focuses on the practical side of it: when oversight creates genuine value versus when it becomes checkbox work, and how organizations can build or mature an oversight model that holds up at scale. The panel will cover:

•      The three pillars of effective oversight: relationship management, performance management, and quality and compliance

•      What vendors and sponsors each wish the other side would stop doing

•      How experienced leaders navigate the hardest parts — regulatory complexity, resource constraints, and scalability

•      Actionable takeaways for building an oversight approach that works in practice
