12 Data Management Companies for Clinical Trials in 2026

Clinical data management sits at the center of how a trial's raw information becomes a submission-ready dataset, spanning everything from the electronic data capture (EDC) system where sites enter data to the biostatistics and programming work that turns it into tables, listings, and figures. A clinical data management provider might specialize in a single EDC platform, a broader eClinical suite covering CTMS and RTSM alongside EDC, or a service-based model built around biostatistics and CDISC-compliant programming. For Sponsors and CROs evaluating a clinical data management service, the choice often comes down to whether a trial needs a licensed software platform, a functional service provider relationship, or both together.

The companies below, presented in no particular order, span that range. Between them they cover flagship EDC and eClinical platforms, discovery and nonclinical data management software, biomarker and sample data intelligence, real-world and genomic data platforms, and biometrics service providers built around biostatistics and statistical programming.

Medidata Solutions

Medidata pioneered electronic data capture with its Rave EDC system, introduced in 2001, and has since built out the Medidata Rave Clinical Cloud into a unified platform spanning EDC, CTMS, randomization, eConsent, and AI-powered analytics. Founded in 1999 in New York, the company was acquired by Dassault Systèmes in 2019 for roughly $5.8 billion, and it states its platform has been used across more than 36,000 trials and 11 million patients. Medidata remains headquartered in New York City as a Dassault Systèmes brand.
